Who we are

Mountain Detection & Security (“MDS”, “we”, “us”) is a security installation company based in Edmonton, Alberta. We handle personal information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If you have any questions about this policy, email us at info@mountaindetection.com.

What we collect

• Information you send us. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect what you provide: your name, email address, phone number, property address or area, property type, the services you’re interested in, and any details you include in your message.
• Information from site visits and installs. If you become a customer, we keep the details needed to design, install, and support your system, such as the layout of the property and the equipment installed.
• Website usage data. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand how the site is used and how fast it loads. This data is anonymous and aggregated (for example: pages viewed, the referring website, country, and device or browser type). These tools do not use cookies and do not identify you personally.

How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and schedule an on-site assessment.
• To prepare your plan and quote, and to install and support your system.
• To keep basic business and accounting records.
• To improve our website.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Details about your property and security system

We treat information about your property, its layout, and your security setup as confidential. We use it only to design, install, and support your system, and share it only with people who need it to do that work.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website and deliver your messages to us:

• Vercel — website hosting and anonymous analytics.
• Resend — delivers quote-form submissions to our inbox by email.

These providers may store or process information outside of Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required for legal, tax, or accounting reasons. After that, it is deleted or securely destroyed.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, and we limit access to the people who need it.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent for us to use it (which may mean we can’t continue to provide a service). To make a request, email info@mountaindetection.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
